Blackmoore Assures Residents of Campbell of His Support and Assistance
Minister for National Security and parliamentary representative for Mahaut constituency, Rayburn Blackmoore, has assured the people of Campbell of his support in fighting off COVID-19 from their area. He gave this assurance in the face of the recent case of COVID-19 infection that occurred in the community.
Blackmoore said he will continue to provide support and assistance to the residents of Campbell, and stated that he will always be there for them in any way they need him.
“I greet you not only as your MP, but also as a human being with feelings, emotions and great concerns in this time of extreme uncertainty in which we are living,” he stated. “I may not say what you think I should say, but I speak to you from my heart. I feel your anxiety and fears and I know you have had troubled and sleepless nights also.”
Blackmoore assured the people of his constituency that the government will do everything in its power to overcome coronavirus, and that the people must also cooperate to make government initiatives effective.
He urged everyone to continue to protect themselves and others by constantly washing their hands, wearing face masks, and observing physical distancing as well as other health protocols recommended by the Ministry of Health.
He urged the people of Campbell and others at large in Dominica to not discriminate against anyone with COVID-19, saying no one intentionally sets out to contract the pandemic. He urged people to cooperate with the authorities in areas of contact tracing and evacuation of infection persons to treatment facilities.
