BPW Dominica’s Silent March for the Vulnerable

Silently marching in the streets of Roseau, throngs of protesters clutched placards declaring their purpose and demanding justice with slogans such as “Leave di people pickney dem alone,” “Stop Violence against women,” “Silence equals support.”

The group recently elected two new executives to govern its affairs 2019-2022 term.

The 11-Member Executive is led by Rhoda St. John who was reelected as President, 1st Vice President Kurell Vidal, 2nd Vice President Sharon Vidal, Financial Officer Rhona Lawrence, Assistant Financial Officer Casia James David, the Young Business and Professional Women (YBPW) President Ezra Peter, General Secretary Ernie Charles, Assistant General Secretary Melissa Graham and Committee Members; Diane Blanford, Gillian Larocque and Alice Dalrymple.

A 7-Member Executive was also elected to run the YBPW who are subsidiaries to BPW Dominica Chapter, which caters for members 35 years and under.

Headed by Peter as President the other members are; Vice President Francine Harve, Secretary Clairessa Bedminister, Treasurer Dellina Dalrymple, Public Relations Officer Ronda Luke and Committee Members; Ronalda Luke and Jemma Shillingford.

BPW Dominica Chapter is an affiliate of BPW International which was founded by Dr. Lena Madesin Phillips in 1930. BPW International is one of the most influential international networks of business and professional women with affiliates in over 100 countries in five continents.

Its members include influential women leaders, entrepreneurs, business owners, executives, professionals and young business and professional women.
