Cara Shillingford Facilitates the Call of Wayne Marsh to the Dominican Bar

Attorney at Law Cara Shillingford has facilitated the call of Wayne Benjamin Marsh to the Dominican Bar. Marsh was born by a Dominican mother and an Antiguan father. He was raised in Antigua but always visited Dominica at every opportunity. Shillingford recommended the admittance of Marsh to the Dominican Bar before Justice Bernie Stephenson and other top executives of the court.

Shillingford said she had known Marsh for the better part of her life and she had also worked with him on legal matters for several months, adding that he is an intelligent and hardworking legal representative who cares for people. She stated that having Marsh as a barrister in Dominica will be an asset to the legal system since he is a bright fellow who is worth his onions in legal matters.

“Having worked closely with Wayne over the past few months, I can safely describe him as an intelligent, hardworking, and thorough individual,” she said. “I have known him personally for a much longer period and enjoying the privilege of calling him my fiancé, I will say further that Wayne has a good heart and truly cares about people. I strongly believe that Mr. Marsh has a bright future ahead of him and that he is a fit and proper person to be called to the bar of the Commonwealth of Dominica.”

Mary Roberts and Joel Paris also recommended Marsh and said admitting him to the bar in Dominica would prove a wise choice.

Justice Stephenson approved the admission of Marsh into the Dominican Bar and charged him to uphold the Dominican law with integrity and purpose. She also charged him to carry out free services to people who have valid cases but are too poor to afford paid representation. She also encouraged him to work with other colleagues with respect and treat the court with the dignity it deserves.

“You now belong to of the Dominica law and uphold that with dignity, civility, and respect,” Stephenson said. “I encourage you to do some pro bono work, you have the academic ability life will test you some people have good cases but no money please assist them.”

Wayne has a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of London and Master’s degree in International Commercial Law from the University of Northumbria in New Castle. He then moved to the United States where he practised Law in New York. He thanked the Bar for accepting him and promised to uphold the tenets of the law in Dominica and Antigua.

“I am elated about joining with Cara Shillingford of Cara Shillingford chambers and will use my best efforts to uphold the rule of law and to continue to serve my clients in New York and those I will gain here in Dominica and Antigua when I am admitted there in a matter of weeks in this increasingly globalized and contracting legal word,” he said.
