Cassani Laville Apologizes For Drivers’ Strike; Dale Dangleben Reacts

Minister for Public Transportation, Cassani Laville, has apologized for the Monday strike embarked upon by bus drivers in the country. He apologized for the behaviour of the drivers and directed his apologies to thousands of commuters who were affected by the protest.

Laville made it clear that the drivers have the constitutional rights to embark on peaceful protests, but that they took it too far by intentionally disrupting the normal activities of other people who were on their way to work.

He said drivers must be aware that whatever they do impacts on people they did not intend, and that a crisis in the transportation sector will disrupt activities in the other sectors of the economy. He stated that all private and government sectors are working together for the common good of the people and the development of the country, and one crisis in one should not be allowed to disrupt the others.

In his reaction, trauma surgeon Dr. Dale Dangleben, condemned Laville for claiming that the drivers engaged in lawlessness in some parts of the country. Dangleben said Laville’s statement was idiotic and reeked of ignorance given that the protesting drivers were only tasking Skerrit on a promise failed.

The trauma surgeon also said the police reenacted the “George Floyd incident” by attacking a bus driver when they should have actually provided security for the protesting drivers. He urged everyone in the country to stand up for their rights and to task the government on areas where they need to really sit up.
