Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite Says Carnival Queen Show Is Good For Tourism

Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite said the carnival queen show is good for tourism. Lockhart-Hypolite is the parliamentary secretary at the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives. She said the yearly organization of the Miss Dominica event is capable of attracting international tourists to the country, with attractive revenue for the tourism sector.

Lockhart-Hypolite made this statement during the launch of Elnarrah Emmanuel at the contestant for the Miss Dominica Pageant show.

She credited the Dominica Festival Committee and the Discover Dominica Authority for raising the standards of the show annually. The parliamentary secretary said the standard is up in terms of the selection of contestants and quality of production.

According to her, “I want to say that we need to take these launchings of the Queen show very seriously, I believe it is a tourism product and we must do all in our power to ensure that every contestant is on a level playing field.”

Lots of villagers and members of the general public have endorsed the emergence of Emmanuel as a contestant, and many expressed their hopes that she would win the beauty contest. Hypolite equally wants the government to be more supportive of the show so that Dominica will be at the forefront during regional and global contests.
