The Dominica Grammar School can boast of a timely contribution of refurbished computers from CIBC FirstCaribbean International bank.
Representing the Dominica Grammar School at the recent presentation were deputy principals, Avril Junkere and Doreen Durand. They expressed gratitude for the contribution especially the timeliness of it.
“In these present times where learning has evolved from face to face to online, staff will now have the necessary equipment to make their work more efficient. Not only will the computers be utilised by the staff to facilitate the online learning process but by extension, those students who require access to computers for research may do so.’
Country Head Stephen Lander said the bank was pleased to come on board to support the school. “The reality that we face now, is that we’re relying more on the virtual learning programme, our hope is that this will assist all members of the faculty in managing their work a lot more easier,” he said
He also stressed youth and education were among the key areas the bank focuses on under its charitable foundation along with health and wellness, community and environment, and also importantly volunteerism.
