Climate Change Activist Urges Youths to Preserve the Earth They Are to Inherit
Climate change activist Ashfred Norris has revealed that youths are to inherit the planet; and that they must preserve the planet to prevent climate change or global warming. He noted that climate change is a threat to the health of our world, and that youths must work proactively to protect the planet they are to inherit.
Norris said that while the adults would serve as influencers and mentors to the youths, the younger generation must engage themselves to make the world a safer place to live in by avoiding activities that contribute to global warming. He added that the future of the world is in the hands of the youths and that they must demonstrate inclusiveness to get the job done.
President of the Dominica State College’s (DSC) Student Government Association, Ellen Commodore, added that asking the right questions and organizing climate debates among others might be the initial approach for youths to deal with challenges of climate change. She said panel discussions and engagement would birth the needed ideas to compel action on the parts of decision-makers.
Commodore who was hosted alongside Norris at Q95’s Civic Vibes by Loftus Durand stated that youths must make their voices heard in matters of global warming so that the coming generations may have a world to settle into.
