Contract for New Marigot Hospital to Be Signed This Week – PM Skerrit
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said a contract for new Marigot hospital will be signed this week. The hospital which has been moribund for 5 years is to be constructed by Montreal Management Consultants Ltd., the contractor behind most housing projects across the country.
Skerrit said the construction of the hospital is indicative of new and positive things beginning to happen in Dominica.
“Next week, we will sign the contract for the construction of the new Marigot Hospital, he said. “The country is not where we want it to be but we are on the move. And there are many positive things happening in this country.”
The prime minister made this revelation while handing over commitment letters to 64 families who will receive housing units in La Plaine. He maintained that a state attorney has been appointed to work toward delivering certificates of title to the house beneficiaries before the end of the year. He noted that the housing units were made possible with CBI funds.
Skerrit used the opportunity to commend Petter Saint-Jean for his contribution to the La Plaine constituency. Saint-Jean is the outgoing parliamentary representative for the area and Skerrit said he worked hard to bring good life to the people of the constituency. Skerrit said the housing unit to be completed in La Plaine will be named after St. Jean.
