Couple Charged With Using Obscene Language Inside a Police Station, Released On $4,000 Bail

A woman and her boyfriend were released on a $4,000 bail after they were charged with using obscene language inside a police station. Amy Laronde and boyfriend Carlton Williams where arraigned in court for disorderly public conduct and for using abusive language against police officers.

The police stated that on May 3, both Laronde and Williams were ordered to vacate the Roseau police station for constituting public nuissance. The couple allegedly refused to leave but rained insults on police officers as well as on others at the scene. They were thereafter arrested and charged with using loud offensive language.

The accused pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned on May 9. The judge released them on a $4,000 and postponed their case to September 12 for trial. They are represented by attorney Wayne Norde.

In a related development, two adults and a minor were arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm inflicted upon an individual on May 5. Elton Joseph and Jeremiah Morancie as well as the unnamed minor are facing an indictable offense and their case will come before a jury at the High Court.

The judge released the three on a bail of $20,000 each and the matter adjourned. Jeremiah Morancie and the teen are represented by attorney Destiny Pascal, while Wayne Norde is representing Elton Joseph.
