Cozier Frederick Says Strategic Collaborations Needed For Plastic Pollution
The parliamentary representative for the Kalinago Territory, Cozier Frederick, revealed that strategic collaborations are required to tackle plastic pollution. He said concerted efforts are needed to rid the society of plastic pollution. According to him, a plastic-free society will improve environmental and biological health for humans and marine ecosystems.
Frederick said private and public sectors of the country must collaborate to overcome the growing challenges of plastic pollution. He noted that government departments, NGOs, private organizations, and regional entities must work together to eliminate the threats of plastic pollution in our waters and cities.
I really honestly believe that it is important to highlight partnerships as one of the best ways to tackle plastic pollution. These partnerships must be in place among government departments, private sectors, NGOs, and regional bodies. This is very important because plastic pollution is a global crisis. So it requires urgent action.

Frederick stated that urgent collaboration among all agents of society is needed. He said that Dominicans have a crucial role to play in leading the charge towards achieving a plastic-free society. According to him, the more people used less of plastic materials and utilized more of renewable materials, the faster the society can be rid of plastic pollution.
