CREAD launches the Salybia Primary School Computer Lab

As part of its ongoing productive partnership with J. Astaphans & Co. Ltd., CREAD is delighted to announce the launch of the Salybia Primary School Computer Lab which will facilitate students from the school and the wider community.

The donation of eight wi-fi ready work stations with large screen monitors, ten reams of paper and Xerox printer with one extra high capacity toner is part of J. Astaphans & Co. Ltd.’s corporate social responsibility to the youth and educational institutions in Dominica. Salybia Primary School is the second primary school to benefit from the mega store’s generosity and commitment to the development of young minds. Atkinson Primary School was similarly outfitted in April.

Principal Lorraine Frederick-Belle was beaming with excitement: “This means that our teachers, students and even students in the area who attend other schools can access their online learning in a comfortable environment. I am very happy and satisfied that this was done for our school. It is critical at this time since most students do not have devices and the school remains online for the moment.” She added that computer studies will now be introduced to every class on their timetables.

Noting that they also open their doors to high school and college students as well as members of the Salybia community, Principal Belle concluded by offering her deep gratitude to J. Astaphans & Co. Ltd., the Minister of Environment, Rural Modernisation and Kalinago Upliftment, Cozier Frederick; and CREAD for making the computer lab a reality.
