CXC Investigates Alleged Leakage of Maths Examination in Two Countries

The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) is currently investigating a purported Mathematics examination leakage in two countries. The CXC said Math Paper 02 allegedly leaked on Wednesday during the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination exercise.

The council did not disclose the names of the two countries where the paper leaked, but said it is intensifying efforts to get to the root of the matter.

“This matter is of great concern to us; we have commenced our investigations and will make a definitive statement once the investigation is completed,” the CXC said. “In the meantime, candidates can rest assured that this matter is being treated with the highest urgency.”

Meanwhile, the CXC Registrar, Magalie Celestine, said students who raised an inquiry over the 2022 CSEC examination will have their money returned to them when it becomes available. She said the number of countries and the procedure for refunding money has delayed the process, but eligible individuals can pick up their money once the regional governments make it available to the CXC.

Celestine revealed that the CXC is only able to refund payments to students after due investigations are completed and a grade is raised after conclusion of the CSEC examination. She urged students who sat for the examination and want to know their results to come forward with documental proofs of sitting for the papers.
