DAIC Negotiates Business Financing, Tourism, and Local Economy with AID Bank
The leadership of the Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC) said they are negotiating business financing, tourism, and local economy growth with the government for better access to funding services from the Agricultural Industrial and Development (AID) bank.
Stephen Lander, DAIC vice-president, revealed that the association has engaged the government to ensure that small- and medium-scale businesses access business funding from AID bank for establishment and expansion purposes. He said this will boost the private sector and also reposition the economy for general growth and advancement.
According to Lander, fast-tracking access to bank loans is not only beneficial to small and medium enterprises, but will also enable the private sector to partner with the government to move the nation forward. He added that DAIC is also engaging with the government to elevate the tourism industry in the areas of product development, sector retooling, and global marketability.
We have engaged the government…around how we fast-track the implementation of public sector projects to the benefit of the local private sector. Those engagements have been positive and we look forward to playing an instrumental role in bringing the ideas to fruition with the Government. Another key area of focus is the tourism industry…and how we retool the industry such that we deliver a much better product as we inch our way back to normal.
Stephen Lander
The central aim of the negotiation and engagement is to ease conditions for accessing AID bank funding for all DAIC members to the betterment of the nation.
