DCA Lists 13 Players for Grenada Game, As PRO Augustine Pascal Resigns
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Dominica Cricket Association (DCA), Augustine Pascal, has resigned in mysterious circumstances. Pascal’s resignation came as a rude shock to many cricket lovers across Dominica even as DCA listed a 13-man squad for the Windward Islands Tournament in Grenada.
Although Pascal’s resignation from DCA took effect on September 22, he said he tendered the resignation in August during a visit to watch his son play in the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Without getting into details, Pascal who is well-known for this avid support for cricket in Dominica said he resigned because he felt disrespected by the Dominica Cricket Association. He said the final decision to resign was ratified by his family even though he was elected as PRO and executive member in February, 2015.
Over an extended period of time – without going into details – I felt disrespected within the Board. Those who know me would know how passionate I am about the sport of cricket. At one point, I felt that passion whittle down. As a grown man, I realized that I had gotten to the point where I felt that I had overstayed my welcome. Having discussed the matter with my family, the decision was for me to step aside.

Meanwhile, the selected list of players for the cricket tournament in Grenada is:
- Kavem Hodge (captain)
- Jerlani Robinson (Vice captain)
- Alick Athanaze
- Gian Benjamin
- Kevin James
- Kershaski Jno Lewis
- Casimir Benjamin
- Micah Joseph
- Kurtney Anselm
- Vincent Lewis
- Gillon Tyson
- Stephan Pascal
- Brian Joseph
The team’s coach is Fernix Thomas and the manager is Gary Benjamin. Captain Kavem Hodge said he is positive that the team will make Dominica proud at the tournament.
I’m looking forward to playing my part in leading this team and help bring along the other guys who are willing to get to the next level and make Dominica proud. Leading from the front with the bat, ball and in the field is always something a captain is judged by so I’m looking forward to executing those skills and contributing to the team’s success.

In a related vein, LA Stars FC of La Plaine scored two goals against ACS Pottersville at the Dominica Football Association (DFA) President’s Cup at the Stockfarm Sports Complex. The team got six points in three games after Earsan Fontaine and Felix Prosper found the back of the net.
