Dennick Luke Competes Strongly but Misses 800m Semifinals

Tough race for National record holder in the Men’s 800 meters Dennick Luke as he looked to qualify for the semi finals of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics this morning.

Luke running in lane 6 in heat number 4 ran a time just off his personal best, but was not fast enough to qualify for the semi finals.

He ran a time of 1 minute 47.54 seconds to finish in 8th place in the heat.

The heat was won by Djamel Sedjati of Algeria in a time of 1 minute 45.84 seconds.

Sedjati interestingly is the fastest runner in the world for 2024.

Dennick will have another opportunity to qualify for the semi finals on Thursday, when he runs in the repechage at 6am caribbean time.
