Digicel gives free access to selected government and eLearning websites
Digicel has granted free internet access to major government portals and online learning hubs to its customers across Dominica. This was announced by Nikima Royer Jno-Baptiste, CEO Digicel Dominica, who said the initiative is to make the current COVID-19 lockdown situation bearable for everyone in the country. She made it clear that Digicel customers will not incur any data charges while accessing these websites and learning platforms for as long as the lockdown continues on the island.
Some of the websites to be accessed for free-
- www.dominica.gov.dm (Government of Dominica’s official website)
- www.paho.org (Pan American Health Organization)
- www.who.int (World Health Organization)
- ABCmouse
- Boom Learning
- Kids Discover
- Scholastic
- Learning Hub
Jno-Baptiste said parents and students can access the educational websites and many more for free on Digicel so as to stay on top of the information they need to keep safe during the current lockdown. Both primary and secondary students and teachers can access these educational materials at a local and regional level across all subjects, she said.
“At Digicel, we’re in the business of keeping people connected and while we are focused internally on business continuity, we understand the purpose that serves to our customers externally,” she said. “During this time, we hope that everyone remains safe and we will continue to do our best to serve.”
