DJ Alfie Charged With Death of Louisa Prince & Cultivation of Cannabis
DJ Alfie, real name Albert Akel Raffoul, has been charged with the death of 31-year-old Louisa Dorothy Prince. Louisa’s body was found with electrocution burns at Gommier Stewart Estate on August 8 and police investigators initially thought she must have been electrocuted. Raffoul was charged with her manslaughter and appeared before Magistrate Bernard Pacquette where he was granted $82,500 bail.
The popular DJ was also charged with cultivation of cannabis at the Gommier Estate where Louisa’s body was found behind a greenhouse. Police Inspector Davidson Cadette charged Raffoul with cultivating 41 plants of cannabis and pleading not guilty, he was granted bail for $20,000.
While the hearing for his manslaughter charge was set for December 5 and the hearing for illegal cultivation of cannabis set for November 5, 2022, Raffoul is mandated to report to the Roseau Police State twice weekly as part of his bail conditions. He was also mandated to surrender his passport to the authorities, obtain approval before travelling, and notify the court of any potential change of address.
Nadia Raffoul stood in as guarantor for the DJ, while he was represented in court by attorneys Kondwani Williams and Wayne Norde. As part of their application for bail, both attorneys submitted that their client must be granted bail since he was due for surgery for a medical condition, and the prosecution led by Inspector Cadette did not refuse the bail application.
