Dominica welcomes its seventh inaugural cruise call of the 2023/24 season today, Tuesday, December 5, 2023. The MV Celebrity Beyond from Celebrity Cruises docked at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth, ushering three thousand nine hundred and fifty (3,950) cruise passengers onto the island’s shores.
To honor this first voyage to Dominica, a ceremonial plaque exchange took place aboard the ship at 9:30 am. This occasion marked the ship’s only scheduled stop in Dominica for the current cruise season. The ship’s itinerary includes a prior visit to St. Maarten and a subsequent journey to Barbados.
The MV Celebrity Beyond is a vessel of Celebrity Cruises, named in line with the company’s forward-thinking slogan. As the third ship in the Edge-class series, it was built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard and launched into service in April 2022. The vessel boasts expansive outdoor areas, including the two-tier Sunset Bar and a revamped Rooftop Garden. It features delicious culinary experiences, including a new restaurant by the world-renowned chef Daniel Boulud.
During its stay, the MV Celebrity Beyond passengers will have the opportunity to explore Dominica’s attractions, with tours planned for Mero Beach, Trafalgar Falls, Emerald Pool, Indian River, and the Cabrits National Park, among others.
Dominica expects two hundred and twenty-two (222) cruise calls for the 2023/24 season, translating to over three hundred and sixty thousand (360,000) visitors. Of these, thirteen (13) are anticipated to be inaugural calls.
