Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association Applauds Hikefest 2024’s Success
The Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of Hikefest 2024, held under the captivating theme “Nature is calling.” This annual event celebrated for its dedication to adventure and exploration, took place every Saturday during the month of May. It attracted an impressive turnout of over 100 avid hikers of all ages, exemplifying the profound passion for outdoor activities and showcasing the growing interest in eco-tourism on the island.
The pinnacle of the event, the grand finale of the Fresh Water lake night hike was nothing short of phenomenal, as participants embarked on an unforgettable journey into the enigmatic surroundings of Dominica under the cloak of darkness through the rain and rugged terrain under the cloudy sky. The ambiance was electric and nothing short of extraordinary as hikers navigated through the darkness, guided by headlights, flashlights and the sounds of laughter.
“We are delighted by the positive response to this year’s Hikefest,” said DHTA’s Executive Vice President, Ms. Ria Williams. “The event not only promoted physical wellness and adventure but also highlighted the natural beauty and environmental diversity that Dominica has to offer.”
