Dominica State College Graduation Rescheduled Due to Tropical Storm Phillipe

The Dominica State College (DSC) has announced a change in the date of its graduation ceremony due to the effects of Tropical Storm Phillipe. The ceremony, initially scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, October 4, 2023, will now take place on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.

The venue remains unchanged – however, it will be held at the forecourt of the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. This year, DSC is expected to graduate over three hundred and forty-five (345) students, a significant accomplishment for their institution despite the challenging weather conditions.

Due to seating limitations, only relatives with an invitation will be allowed seating at the venue. DSC appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation in this matter.

DSC has also rescheduled other important dates in light of the storm’s impact. Classes will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, October 4, 2023, once the all-clear signal is given. Graduation practice will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., also at the forecourt of the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. The campus will be closed on Friday, October 6, 2023, as staff and faculty are expected to attend the graduation ceremony.

“We understand that these changes may cause some inconvenience,” said DSC Public Relations and Student Recruitment Officer Monelle Alexis. “However, the safety and well-being of the college community remain our highest priority.”

DSC thanks their students, staff, faculty, and the wider community for their understanding during this time and looks forward to celebrating the accomplishments of their graduates on October 6, 2023.
