Dominica’s Minister for Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives, Honourable Denise Charles will assume the chairmanship of the OECS Council of Tourism Ministers when the group meets in Dominica this week.
The 7th Annual Meeting of the OECS Council of Tourism Ministers convenes on Thursday, July 21st, 2022 at the Cabrits Resort and Spa, Kempinski. Eleven Ministers of Tourism will participate to address key issues impacting the region’s tourism and hospitality industry and devise effective strategies to spur growth in the post COVID-19 period.
In her deliberations, Honourable Charles will give focus to intraregional transportation and hospitality training; encourage the promotion of regional tourism to expand the tourism economies of OECS member states; and reinforce the view of the Council that the growth and development of the OECS tourism sector must improve the quality of life of citizens.
The OECS Council of Tourism Ministers envisions a tourism industry that is viable, internationally competitive, resilient and sustainable; and adds value to the lives and livelihoods of citizens.
The Meeting is hosted by the OECS Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives, Dominica.
