Dominica’s Entrepreneurship World Cup Winner is Jaydees Naturals
Jaydees Naturals, continues to make strides as an impactful, award-winning earth-friendly enterprise, with the company’s recent win of the Dominica leg of the Entrepreneurship World Cup.
CEO Jodie Dublin-Dangleben emerged the top presenter in this internationally-recognised business pitch competition, with her natural hair and skin care line, edging participants from around the island to include fellow finalists, Nadja Thomas from Frying Pan Productions; Kondwani Williams from Eco Caribbean Property Investments Inc. and Hendrica Smith from R&H Supplies Bookstore.
“I’m thrilled to be the top recipient of this competition, “says the entrepreneur who is also an engineer by profession.
She adds, “For me, it’s not just about winning; but about pushing myself to do my best and to ensure my products are of the highest standards.”
The competition, conceived by the Misk Global Forum in 2019 and co-hosted by Global Entrepreneur Network and Monsha’at is one of the biggest and most diverse startup pitch competitions and support programs of its kind, featuring more than 370,000 entrepreneurs from over 200 countries and offering winners life-changing prizes.
Since its launch, the EWC has awarded $3 million in cash prizes, $150 million in in-kind prizes and provided opportunities for entrepreneurs at all levels – from idea stage to scale-up – to reach the next stage in their journey by providing them with free access to world class training and resources, enhancing their visibility, and working to connect them to mentors and investors.
The competition involves entrants presenting a 3-minute pitch and pitch deck to judges in their respective nations. For the Caribbean region, the top representatives from each country will compete to be the Regional representative and for the chance to be part of the top 100 entrepreneurs to make it to the final round, where they will compete for the $1million dollar prize.
Dublin-Danglenen is looking forward to the Regional round and aspires to make a successful play for the opportunity to pitch to global business influencers.
To make it to the final round would be a dream come true. There is much that I still can do to scale up Jaydees Naturals as demand has grown exponentially. From expanding my workspace to buying equipment and inventory and even research and development coming up with new formulas and macerations, using our natural indigenous remedial culture and different herbs and remedies that have worked for us; I really anticipate Jaydees Naturals becoming a business that all Dominicans can be proud of both here and abroad.
