The Dominica Water and Sewerage Company Limited would like to clear the air on a voice note which it received just about lunch time on August 21, 2020 and to say that no staff member has reported feeling unwell and have had to be sent home on Thursday, 20 August, 2020 or Friday, 21 August, 2020.
There may have been two members of staff in direct contact with the recent Covid-19 case. These two individuals have self-quarentine at home from the instant of notification of the positive result of the individual. They remain at home and are under the guidance of the medical health professionals. To date, there has been no member of staff of DOWASCO who has tested positive for Covid-19.
We regret the irresponsible nature of the voice note being circulated and wish to assure the public that the Management of DOWASCO has met with all its staff at all locations, respecting social distancing and have advised them of the situation. Management remains in contact with the medical professionals and is adhering to all the advice provided by these professionals and is doing all what is necessary to protect staff and the public during these trying times.
