DOWASCO’s 2023 World Food Day Staff Drive

The Dominica Water and Sewerage Company Limited (DOWASCO) observed World Food Day 2023 with a staff food drive. A large quantity of food items, cleaning supplies, and personal effects supplied by the company’s staff was donated to four charitable institutions on the island. The Grotto Home for the Homeless, the Northern District Home for the Aged, House of Hope and Chances all expressed heartfelt gratitude for their timely contribution to their establishments.

On October 16, World Food Day was celebrated under the theme, ‘Water is Life, Water is Food. Leave no one behind.’ As such DOWASCO found it necessary to play its part this year with this initiative. Manager of Human Resource and Customer Service at DOWASCO Ms. Gennette Ellis says the initiative was geared at offering support to charitable organizations that may not be receiving an influx of donations at this time of year.

The theme for this year’s World Food Day was aimed at highlighting the reliance of food production on access to water. DOWASCO remains committed to constantly making the necessary improvements to our water systems across Dominica to ensure all customers have quality and reliable services.
