DPSU Defends Claims on Public Works Salary Delays

The Dominica Public Service Union views with concerns recent statements made by the Management of the Public Works Corporation which suggest that the union was not truthful in disseminating information regarding the late payment of salaries to staff at the Corporation.
The Dominica PSU sticks by its statement that monthly paid employees had to endure the hardship of not being paid for two months up to February 28th 2025 along with the fortnightly paid workers who had not been paid for two fortnights.
We anticipated that the proactive and forceful approach which the DPSU took in addressing the matter would have caused some embarrassment to Management and stakeholders of the Public works Corporation. All concerned should understand that the delays in payment have become the culture at the Corporation without any serious effort being taken by all concerned to arrest the situation once and for all. The public statement by the Union was again an effort to communicate the frustration expressed by employees and to gain the attention of the Corporation to have the matter addressed once and for all.
Management’s statement to the public is misleading, erroneous and an attempt to save face.
The DPSU will be relentless in its effort to ensure that members are treated with respect and fairness.
