Education Ministry Pushes Back G6NA Exam Dates from May 27 to June 24
Education Minister Octavia Alfred has announced that the Grade Six National Assessment (G6NA) examination earlier scheduled for May 26-27 has been postponed to June 23-24, 2022. The education minister said this was due to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic which impacted academic activities across the country.
Alfred said school activities held virtually during the pandemic, and many students were not able to access online teaching due to lack of internet connectivity and applicable devices. This difficulty made it difficult for many students to master several academic studies necessary for passing the 6GNA examination.
This year, the new date for the G6NA is Thursday, June 23, and Friday, June 24, 2022. These new dates will allow the children to receive additional instructional support from schools since they are engaged in face-to-face learning presently.

The human resource and vocational training minister also added that certain subjects such as Language Arts, Science, and Mathematics will be conducted physically on paper; but Social Sciences will be done electronically.
Pending the commencement of the examination in two months, Alfred tasked students to continue taking their academics seriously. She also promised that the education ministry will intensify collaboration with schools to ensure students are well-trained on writing online examinations successfully before the exam dates. She added that COVID-19 safety and health protocols will be implemented during the examination.
