Fidel Grant Provides Update on International Airport Construction in Wesley
The Minister of Agriculture, Fidel Grant, has provided updates on the construction of an international airport in Wesley. He said construction is progressing according to plan, despite the many challenges faced by government and contractors in citing the airport at Wesley. He expressed satisfaction that some Wesley people who were relocated are doing well in their present location.
Grant said he is aware of criticisms that some elements are directing at the government for citing the international airport in Wesley. He said such disgruntled elements are not even residents or people connected to Wesley in any way, noting that commercial activity has increased in Wesley despite the negativities demonstrated by distractors.
The minister chided people who criticize the government for the airport without contributing anything meaningful to the development of Wesley or the country in general. He urged such people to cooperate with the government to make Dominica a better and progressive country in the Caribbean.
In a related development, the agriculture minister revealed that the Skerrit-led administration is making land available for farming purposes across the country. He said the government will provide farming land for free and also provide agricultural technologies for crop cultivation and animal husbandry in Dominica. He urged the youths to register for the initiative to boost food security and generate employment revenues in partnership with the government.
