Hodge, Athanaze in West Indies Camp for Upcoming Test Series Against India
Dominica’s promising cricket stars, Kavem Hodge and Alick Athanaze, have been selected to join the preparatory camp for the approaching Cycle Pure Agarbathi Test Series against India in the Caribbean. The squad selection was unveiled by the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Men’s Selection Panel on Thursday, with training set to commence on Friday, June 29 at the Coolidge Cricket Ground (CCG) in Antigua.
Newcomers to the Test level, Hodge and Athanaze join the ranks of other uncapped players in the squad, including Kirk McKenzie, fast bowlers Akeem Jordan, and Jair McAllister. Upon the completion of training, the opening Test squad will be unveiled.
The team is scheduled to depart for Dominica on Sunday, July 9, to gear up for the first Test at Windsor Park Sports Stadium, taking place from July 12 to 16. Post their match in Dominica, the Windies team will journey to the Queen’s Park Oval for the second Test slated for July 20-24, marking the 100th Test clash between West Indies and India.
Overseeing the training camp is captain Kraigg Brathwaite, preparing the team for the upcoming encounters.
