I Have a Right Foundation Calls for Volunteers at New Girls’ Library

The I Have a Right Foundation is on a mission to advance the rights, empowerment, and leadership of girls in Dominica. As we take this monumental step, to open our Girls for Success Library, we are reaching out to the community, calling for passionate volunteers to join us in creating a safe and inspiring learning pace for girls.

About Girls for Success Library and Girl Hood Lounge:

Situated in the Community of Wesley, the Girls for Success Library, an extension of I Have a Right Foundation’s Girl Hood Lounge, is designed to be more than just a place to read books. It’s a safe space where girls have the freedom to acquire skills, build awareness, and take action on issues that matter to them. A space for transformation, growth, and community building where girls will be assured that they are important, valued, and inherently strong.

Programs Offered:

  • Book Club: A platform for girls to explore the magic of literature, exchange ideas, and cultivate a love for reading.
  • Homework Helpers: Dedicated support for girls to excel in their academics, providing a nurturing environment for learning.
  • Girl Talk: Open and empowering discussions that encourage girls to share their thoughts, experiences, and dreams in a supportive community of sisters.

Volunteer and Intern Opportunities:

We are seeking volunteers and interns who share our commitment to girls’ empowerment and uphold our core values of respect, trust, accountability, advocacy, innovation, and collaboration.

Opportunities include:

  1. Girlhood Mentors: Women who will guide and inspire girls on their journey to success.
  2. Program Support Volunteers: To assist in designing and executing impactful programs.
  3. Library Support Volunteers: To assist girls in accessing a world of knowledge.
