Lead prosecutor in the allege incitement case against opposition leader Lennox Linton, Trinidadian senior counsel Israel Khan says that he is satisfied so far at the way the case is going.
I always have to be satisfied. I have to take the resources of the country into consideration, we have one magistrate sitting, and we don’t have a proper court so we are taking it one day at a time.

Linton’s lead counsel Gildon Richards also spoke to the press say that he was “very satisfied that Mr. Khan (lead counsel for prosecution) informed the court that this is a political trail.”
He knows why he is saying that it is a political trial, he is ceased of information that maybe I don’t have since he was brought here from Trinidad…so if he can come here in Dominica and say it’s a political trial the nation and the world should agree it is such Knowing the status of Mr. Lennox Linton, we must all now appreciate that this whole process is a political trial, the magistrates has said that he is not presiding over a political trial.

According to Richards, this is a warning that we need to be cautions of the trajectory that this process will take.
“I will await the ruling of the magistrate come October 15, 2019 in the meantime, Mr. Linton has his work and that of the people to do,” he said.
Linton called the situation “a multi-million dollar persecution.”
“I heard in the court that I am accused of inciting people to riot, vandalized and commit arson. I want to say for the records that anybody making any allegation of that nature, claiming to have evidence can only be in possession of manufactured evidence which will be totally strange to the truth,” Linton said. He continued, “We are entering a very sad chapter in the history of Dominica where a political party in government can use million dollars of the state’s money to embark on persecution of somebody in political life opposed to them who have simple exercise the right to desist and disagree and voiced objections to things that are happening that are not good for Dominica.”
