JCI Dominica President selected to represent JCI West Indies at 2022 American Leadership Academy
Ms. Lyndelle Felix, President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Dominica, has been chosen as one of eight (8) JCI West Indies National Councilors to represent JCI West Indies as the Chief Delegate at the American Leadership Academy (ALA), which will be held in Willemstad, Curacao from May 14th to 17th, 2022. JCI Antigua National Councilor Shenique Barry, who will serve as the Alternate for JCI West Indies, will join her.
Ms. Felix acknowledged her appreciation and excitement at being chosen, stating, and “This selection is humbling. I give thanks for the opportunity to represent JCI West Indies and serve as an ambassador for my country Dominica. This selection also shows that JCI Dominica is making tremendous progress toward being recognized as a solid organization of young active citizens and future leaders and is further testament to the hard work put in by the board and its members. I want to express my sincere gratitude to H.H.V. Whitchurch & Co. Ltd and the Discover Dominica Authority for espousing and supporting my attendance, as it allows me to showcase Dominica’s culture, heritage, and status as the world’s premier tourism destination to over 1000 delegates coming from across 50 countries.”
The American Leadership Academy’s (ALA) primary goal is to develop future leaders for National Organizations, with a particular emphasis on the development of strong leadership and administrative skills for local organizations, as well as learning how to use JCI tools to benefit your local organization.
In addition to participating in the American Leadership Academy, Ms. Felix will represent JCI Dominica in the JCI Conference of the Americas, which will be held in Willemstad, Curacao from May 18th to 21st, 2022. This conference brings together delegates from across the Americas to receive Training and discuss sustainable solutions to a variety of challenges, with the goal of creating a positive impact and change in our communities around the world.
