Joshua Francis Says UWP Remains Strong and Viable; Praises Lennox Linton

Attorney Joshua Francis, former deputy leader of the UWP, has responded to claims that the opposition party has become weak and unviable. He berated Attorney Anthony Astaphan and others for suggesting that the opposition has become a toothless dog and Opposition Leader Lennox Linton ineffective.

Making his views known during a radio interview, Francis emphasized that the opposition is ready to take on the ruling government on any points of national importance. He said the DLP would have been a better party if they listened to corrections from the UWP and that Linton remains committed to realigning the country to the original vision of Dominica’s founders.

He also credited the opposition leader with significant contribution to the progress of the nation, saying Dominica would have become upended if not for the checks and balances implemented by the opposition party. According to Francis, Linton has strenghted the UWP into a democratic team that is focused on raising the standards of living for the people and making Dominica a regional leader in the Caribbean.

The former UWP deputy leader cautioned Astaphan and his ilks to channel their energies to building the nation rather than pulling progressives down, adding that Linton has achieved far better for the unity and advancement of the country than anyone else. He equally warned detractors that karma is real, and that people should expect to reap what they sow in matters of national concerns.
