Marigot Development Corporation (MDC) Secures $3.7 Million
The Marigot Development Corporation (MDC), has secured financial awards of EC$3.7 million for 9 Caribbean students, through its US Study Program – The Boarding School Section.
The nine year old program, which has placed 79 students in US boarding schools, targets students under 17 years of age, who meet the criteria for acceptance. MDC facilitates students in preparing for the boarding school exam (the SSAT), selecting schools, applying to the schools and obtaining financial awards. The program also provides support and guidance to students throughout boarding school and university as required.
The 2021 cohort who will be transitioning to boarding school are: (1) Dominique Williams, (2)Tyrique Jean Jacque, (3)Ciara Jean Jacque, (4)Nisani Mendez, (5)Bibliana Thomas, (6)Hilary N. Lawrence, (7)Adiele Charles, (8)Patrick Phillip Jr, (9)Zaira Henry. They hail from the Convent High School, St. Mary’s Academy, Dominica State College, St. Martin Secondary School, Washington Archibald High School(St. Kitts), Quality School International (Belize), Queens College (Bahamas) and Gingerland Secondary School(Nevis).
The 2021 cohort were accepted by; Philip Andover Academy, Milton Academy, Lake Forest Academy, Wayland Academy, Orme School, Rabun Gap Nacoochee School, The Masters School, and Oregon Episcopal School. They will join twelve (12) other students from the program, currently attending US boarding schools.
The program would like to thank the very loyal parents and its supporting cast, of Ms. Sharon Philogene – English Instructor, Bro. James – Math Instructor and Ms. Nadja O. Thomas – Interview Instructor.
Registration for the 2022 cohort will start from July 1, 2021.
