Michael Laduat is now a Magistrate in Dominica

Retired Inspector of police Michael Laduat is now a magistrate in Dominica. The Judicial & Legal Services Commission (JLSC) based in St. Lucia approved his recommendation and Laduat took his oath and handed his instrument of appointment on February 14, 2019 by President of Dominica Charles Savarin.

In attendance at the brief ceremony were his wife and a few other family members.

In April 2018 the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) where Laduat was attached for many years held a ceremony in his honor with DPP Evaline Baptiste describing him as “a dedicated man to his work.”

His Honor Mr. Michael Laudat served for 38 years in the Police force and on numerous occasions acted in the post of Assistant Superintendent of Police.

He is well known for his prosecutorial skills being attached to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) as Principal Police Prosecutor and has had several local, regional and international training stints from 1990 to 2013 in various fields of crime, prosecuting, among others.
