MLajan Mobile Wallet to Expand to the OECS in 2024.

MLajan Mobile Wallet, a cutting-edge financial technology solution in Dominica will be pursuing regional expansion in the OECS in 2024 thanks to having triumphed in the first Caribbean FinTech Sprint for Financial Inclusion, an initiative led by the European Union, Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF). The challenge was created to attract local and global FinTechs with market-ready solutions to address identified problem statements that represent the challenges Trinidad and Tobago, and Eastern Caribbean Countries face in developing the digital payments ecosystem.

The MLajan Mobile Wallet team, led by the late Director Valentine Telemaque & Phoenix Belfield, CEO – MLajan, demonstrated a clear commitment to financial inclusion and access through their platform, which addressed the critical issue of providing digital payment solutions for underserved users of Credit Unions. The team presented a comprehensive and live solution designed to bridge the financial inclusion gap and to empower individuals who have traditionally been excluded from mainstream financial services.

MLajan Mobile Wallet’s victory underscores the company’s dedication to leveraging technology for positive societal impact while offering a user-friendly and inclusive platform that aligns with the principles of the UNCDF’s inclusive finance initiative.

We are honoured and thrilled to have been recognized by the UNCDF for our commitment to addressing the financial needs of underserved Credit Union members through the MLajan Mobile Wallet. This victory is a testament to our team’s dedication to creating innovative solutions that empower individuals and communities, fostering financial inclusion and driving positive change within the OECS space.
