Monelle Alexis Steps Into Key Communications Role at Discover Dominica Authority

Discover Dominica Authority is delighted to announce the appointment of Monelle Alexis as their Communications and Public Relations Specialist. As of November 13, 2023, Ms. Alexis has taken charge of this newly created position. She will be responsible for steering and executing the communications strategy of the Discover Dominica Authority and the Dominica Festivals Committee while collaborating with the Authority and the Ministry of Tourism on media relations.

Ms. Alexis is familiar with such roles, having amassed rich experience in various capacities within the public and private sectors. Her previous positions include Public Relations and Student Recruitment Officer at Dominica State College, Public Relations Officer at RayAsta Foundation, Communications Consultant to the Interim Board of the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital, and a Marketing Consultant to numerous small businesses in Dominica.

Under the tutelage of the Ministry of Tourism and the Discover Dominica Authority, Ms. Alexis aims to implement a comprehensive communications and media relations program that effectively disseminates information regarding the tourism-related activities of the Authority and industry.

In her own words, Ms. Alexis states, “I am happy to join the team at Discover Dominica Authority. Together with the team, I look forward to working with the local and regional media to inform about the Authority’s and destination’s activations to excite and inspire potential visitors and partners to drive the industry. This we hope to achieve by creating factual information and coverage to our leading industry experts and change-makers”.

With a forward-looking perspective, Ms. Alexis is eager to synergize with various internal and external teams, including the Ministry of Tourism, The Discover Dominica Authority, The Dominica Festivals Committee, and other industry leaders and key stakeholders.
