New Cohort of Nurses Graduates from All Saints University

All Saints University School of Medicine will award twenty-three students Bachelor of Science Degrees in Nursing at its fourth Nursing graduation ceremony. The event, taking place at the Dominica Public Service Union Building on Valley Road on Friday, July 26, at 4 PM, will celebrate the accomplishments of the 2024 graduating class.

The theme for this year’s ceremony is “Empathy: A Rebirth in Action,” underscoring the importance of empathy in nursing. This theme highlights the need for compassionate practices in healthcare to ensure patient-centered, safe, and effective care.

The program, accredited by the General Nursing Council for Dominica, adheres to international standards, preparing graduates to succeed locally, regionally, and globally in the nursing field.

Degrees will be conferred by President Dr. Joshua Yusuf, who will also deliver a congratulatory speech. Ms. Kathleen Newton, an Intensive Care Nurse, will perform the ceremonial pinning of graduates, symbolizing their readiness to embark on their nursing careers. The keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Phael Lander, a Registered Nurse (RN) and an Alumnus of the University, currently serving in the Accident and Emergency Department of the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital.

Awards will be given to students who have demonstrated excellence in both theoretical and practical skills. The university has reiterated its commitment to supporting its graduates as they begin their careers, aiming to make a positive impact on healthcare systems worldwide.
