New Leadership at Discover Dominica Authority: Marva Williams

Marva Williams has been appointed as the new CEO of Discover Dominica Authority (DDA). Williams previously served as the Marketing Manager at Digicel Dominica and held the Festival and Events Manager position at DDA until 2022. She brings a wealth of experience and a solid educational background to her new role.

Williams has represented Dominica internationally throughout her career, promoting the island’s signature events. In 2007, the National Youth Council recognized her contributions to Dominica’s culture and heritage. She has also been a member of the Dominica Independence Committee, where she helped develop the annual Independence calendar.

Williams is known for her event planning, project management, public speaking, content creation, relationship management, and team building skills. Her notable achievements include significantly increasing attendance at the World Creole Music Festival in 2019 and enhancing the Jazz ‘n Creole event.

Williams holds a Master of International Business from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Florida International University. She is certified in Sales and Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Regional Branding and Marketing, Data Literacy, and Human Subjects Research.

She has also played a crucial role in developing Dominica’s Carnival, including the Miss Dominica Pageant and street parades. Additionally, she introduced a new event, SunRise, on Carnival Friday, which was well received.

Williams’s appointment as CEO of DDA is expected to bring new energy and innovative ideas to the organization, further promoting Dominica’s tourism and cultural heritage.
