Plastic Recycle Center in Portsmouth Creates Keyrings, Earrings and Other Jewelry from Wastes
The plastic recycle center in Portsmouth creates keyrings, earrings and other jewelry from waste products. The waste recycling center is supported by the Rotary Club of Portsmouth which aided the recycling initiatives. Parts of the products made with environmental wastes include plastic cups and plates among other household materials.
The Portsmouth facility is now fully operational with workers working assiduously to convert wastes into usable products. This effort will not only provide individuals and families with usable products, it will also rid the environment of discarded wastes and other litters. This is in addition to providing jobs to people in the communities as well as aiding technical knowledge for skill acquisition purposes.
The recycled products are generally sold back to members of the public, and this is an income-generation opportunity for the facilitators.
Ashton Riviere, manager of the plastic recycle center, commended the Rotary Club and other organizations which helped set up the facility. He, however, noted that their main concern is that people do not dispose of their wastes in an acceptable manner.
Rather than people to dispose of their wastes in bins provided at street corners for the purpose, or even bring the wastes directly to the center for recycling, they throw them into rivers and backyards where they get dirty and have to be washed and dried before they can be used for recycling purposes.
Riviere urged people to make use of litter bins or bring wastes to the facility and not to litter the environment with waste products.
