PM Skerrit Meets With Independent Candidates Who Contested December 6 General Elections

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit held discussions on Friday, December 9 with the independent candidates and members of Team Unity Dominica (TUD), who contested the recent general elections.

The Dominica Labour Party won general elections held on December 6th, 19 -2. Following his party’s victory at the polls, the Dominican leader said he would seek the cooperation of the independent candidates and the leader s of the main political parties in efforts to advance the country’s development agenda.

In a lengthy meeting held at the State House Conference Center, the candidates commented on the electoral process and outlined recommendations for improvements in their respective constituencies.

Earlier on Friday, the Prime Minister met with the elected representative for the Marigot Constituency, Anthony Charles.

Mr. Skerrit said he plans to continue consultations with the independent candidates, opposition members and the leadership of political parties.
