PM Skerrit Says New 75-Bed Marigot Hospital Will Be Completed In April 2021

PM Roosevelt Skerrit has revealed that the new 75-bed hospital being constructed in Marigot will be completed by April 2021. Construction of the hospital commenced years ago but it was discontinued in 2016 after fungus and mold were discovered in the building. However, work resumed on the hospital again in January 2020 and it is projected to be completed in April next year.

According to PM Skerrit, the new hospital is planned to serve the healthcare needs of the people of Marigot and the entire northeast region. He said the completion of the hospital is in response to the needs of the people and a clear demonstration of government’s commitment to the health infrastructure of the people.

The prime minister stated that the hospital upon completion will have a pediatric unit, maternity ward, intensive care unit, emergency care, ambulance services, trauma centre, laboratory, and radiology services among others. He said the hospital will be of the highest standards since top-notch healthcare is necessary for the survival and growth of communities.

“Your government looks forward with great anticipation to the completion of this hospital to benefit and improve the quality of life of the people of the northeast of our country,” Skerrit disclosed.
