Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit recently welcomed His Excellency Chu Maoming, the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, to the Commonwealth of Dominica. Ambassador Chu’s visit to the Prime Minister’s office came shortly after presenting his credentials to President Sylvanie Burton, marking the commencement of his diplomatic duties in Dominica.
During their meeting, Prime Minister Skerrit reiterated the Government of Dominica’s unwavering support for Ambassador Chu and acknowledged China’s significant contributions to the development of Dominica. The bilateral discussions emphasized the deep-rooted relationship between the two nations, which has flourished through twenty years of collaboration across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agriculture.
The Prime Minister’s recent delegation to China in March, which celebrated two decades of diplomatic ties, highlighted the strong bond and mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both countries. This ongoing partnership underscores a shared vision of progress and development, fostered by continuous diplomatic and economic cooperation.
