Police Arrest Fugitive Who Stabbed Girlfriend and Her Sister

A St. Lucian fugitive who stabbed his girlfriend and her sister in Grand Fond has been captured by the Dominican police. Casy Joseph, 29, reportedly stabbed 23-year-old girlfriend Tricia Valentine multiple times after a domestic disagreement. Joseph also allegedly stabbed Valentine’s sister, 17-year-old Jolisa Dublin when she intervened in the fight.

The two sisters were rushed to the La Plaine healthcare facility and then transferred to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital in Roseau where they were placed on admission. Family members reported that both sisters have been stabilized and recuperating.

The police launched a manhunt for Joseph who had fled the scene after the incident. He was reportedly arrested after nearly 24 hours near Castle Bruce and whisked away to the police station for interrogation.

In a related development, the police also arrested a man who had a Taurus 40 millimeter pistol with 10 live ammunition and 29 kilograms of marijuana in his possession. The man was arrested during a stop-and-search operation after his vehicle was stopped and searched. The contraband was seized and the man taken to police headquarters for questioning.

Meanwhile, two French citizens who entered Dominica via an undesignated port of entry have also been arrested and taken to police headquarters for interrogations.
