Police Chief Debunks Reports of Breaches at COVID-19 Quarantine Facilities
Deputy Chief of Police Lincoln Corbette has debunked reports that some people escaped from the quarantine facilities in Dominica. He said there is no truth making the rounds that certain persons breached security at the facilities and escaped. He added that the police will continue to secure the facilities until all quanrantined persons have been treated in hospitals and discharged.
So far, there are no breaches at the quarantine facilities or the COVID hospital, I know there have been reports circulating of persons escaping or absconding from the sites, I wish to say that these reports are untrue and malicious. No one has escaped from the facilities or the hospital.

To ensure that the Ministry of Health succeeds at curtailing the spread of coronavirus in Dominica, the deputy chief of police said officers patrol villages and towns as well as the sea to prevent unlawful gathering and illegal entry. He noted that immigration officials have arrested individuals who gain illegal entry into the island and that these will be prosecuted according to law.
Corbette also stated that illegal entrants into Dominica are being kept at Picard and will soon face the full wrath of the law. He appreciated the members of the public for informing the authorities of people who would not obey curfew orders and associated quarantine rules.
“Anyone who is found entering the state illegally will be dealt with according to law,” he said. “No one will get a free pass.”
