Police authorities have identified Julien Thomas, a.k.a Cube, as the unfortunate victim of a shooting incident in Roseau. Police revealed that 28-year-old Thomas, a Portsmouth native resident in Roseau, was shot to death close to the Three Dollar Mega Store in Great Marlborough Street, Roseau.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. in the early morning of Saturday, December 7. The circumstances surrounding Thomas shooting death remain unknown, but police authorities said they have commenced investigations to get to the root of the matter.
Law enforcement said Thomas was found lying in the street with a possible gunshot wound to his body. He was rushed to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital where a doctor pronounced him already dead. His body has been taken to the Lyndhurst Funeral Home where a post-mortem will be performed on him.
It is not known whether Thomas’ death is connected with the elections that took place a few hours earlier on December 6, or some other private business. But several government agencies and many NGOs have warned youths in Dominica to resolve their differences amicably without resorting to violence in any form.
The authorities say youths must embrace dialogue or even report matters to the police for intervention instead of taking the law into their hands. Youths across the countries were also advised to engage in constructive and productive activities that would take their attention from crimes.
