Police Investigate Alleged Electrocution of 31-Year-Old Lady in Bath Road
The death has been reported of 31-year-old Louisa Dorothy Prince of Bath Road, Roseau. The young woman was found unresponsive at a greenhouse behind her house on Monday, August 8. Acting Inspector Fixton Henderson said she was possibly electrocuted due to the burns on her stomach and knees.
“She was apparently electrocuted on Monday 8th August 2022 at Beau Bois,” Henderson stated. “She had apparent burns to her abdominal region and her knees; she appeared to have been electrocuted.”
Henderson said Dorothy’s body was first discovered that fateful day at around 6:30 pm, and a doctor who was called in pronounced her dead at about 9 pm that evening. She has been deposited at a funeral home to await autopsy. Inspector Henderson said the authorities are working to unravel the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise in Beau Bois.
In a related development, the Minister for National Security, Rayburn Blackmoore, has condemned the incessant gun violence that has resulted in more than 13 killings in this year. He tasked Dominicans to resolve their differences through dialogue and to report difficult cases to police authorities. He said citizens must dwell in peace to be able to reap the dividends of democracy under the DLP administration led by PM Roosevelt Skerrit.
