Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit to Attend G77 + China Summit in Cuba

Prime Minister Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit left the state on Thursday, September 14 to attend the Group of 77 plus China (G77+China) Summit in Havana, Cuba.

The Summit runs from September 15-16, 2023 under the theme, ‘The Current Challenges of Development- Role of Science, Technology and Innovation.’

Prime Minister Skerrit will join other world leaders to discuss current development challenges facing member countries and seek common solutions. The summit is set to issue a final declaration which outlines the purposes and principles of the bloc and addresses the needs of developing countries.

Dominica’s delegation includes Honourable Darron Lloyd, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of the Environment, Rural Modernisation, Kalinago Upliftment and Constituency Empowerment and Dominica’s Ambassador to Cuba, H.E Ian Douglas.

Minister for Finance, Economic Development, Climate Resilience and Social Security, Honourable Dr. Irving McIntyre is the Acting Prime Minister in the absence of Prime Minister Skerrit.
