Returning DSC Students to Wear Face Masks and Observe Social Distancing

Almost 600 students have resumed to the Dominica State College (DSC), and they will be mandated to wear face masks and observe social distancing. This was revealed by the president of the college, Dr. Donald Peters, during a radio programme recently. He said the DSC has implemented the guidelines and protocols recommended by the Ministry of Health for students and college staff.

According to Dr. Peters, the health and safety protocols put in place are certain to reduce the risks of COVID-19 within the college. He said the college management will enforce adherence to the regulations, and also urged students and employees to strictly observe all the policies.

“Out of class,” Peters said, “students are advised and are encouraged, to stay at least three feet apart and wear masks. We are following all the guidelines and we are comfortable that everybody will be fine.”

As part of the endeavour to upgrade the scores of the students in all technical courses, the school authorities have urged students to expand on last year’s lectures and widen their horizon in their students. Peters revealed that the school is “bringing back the probationary period” with a view to raising the standards of courses and student performances in the college.

Many students resumed on Monday, September 28 and others will be joining up in the coming days.
