Revitalizing Dominica Domino Association: New Executive Elected to Lead the Fraternity
The Dominica Domino fraternity recently came together for a significant event, the Nature Island Domino League, sponsored by Fine Food Inc, Digicel Whitchurch IGA, Morancie and Son Autoparts, and Element Agencies. Following this successful league, domino players and enthusiasts gathered to revamp the Dominica Domino Association, which had been inactive for some time.
On Saturday, July 29, a meeting was held, with around 40-50 attendees present. The primary goal was to elect a new executive to lead the association and breathe new life into the domino community on the island. The meeting also served as a platform to discuss ways to promote the game of dominoes at a national level.
During the gathering, a new executive team was democratically elected, signaling a fresh start for the Dominica Domino Association:
- President: Royston Mitchel
- Vice President: Eddie Beaupierre
- Secretary: Leandra Severin
- Vice Secretary: Peter Pemberton
- Treasurer: Royce Caesar
- Vice Treasurer: Eric Frampton
- Public Relations Officers: Kerwin Guye and Cindy Toussaint
- Trustees: Felix Dangleben, Micheal David, Davidson Benjamin, and Oliver Yankey
Royston Mitchel, the newly elected President of the association, expressed his gratitude to the members for entrusting him with this responsibility. He shared his vision for the association, which includes introducing the game of dominoes to various schools across the island. The focus will be on highlighting the numerous benefits that can be derived from playing this classic game.
With a fresh and passionate executive team in place, the Dominica Domino Association aims to reignite interest in the game and foster a vibrant domino community. The newly elected leaders are committed to promoting the spirit of camaraderie and competition that dominoes bring, both among players and enthusiasts throughout the island.
