Roland Royer Meets Crop and Livestock Farmers at South Agricultural Region
Agriculture Minister Roland Royer met with crop and livestock farmers during the concluding part of his tour to the South Agricultural Region. He interacted with the farmers at the Pierre Charles Secondary School to discuss their challenges and experiences with commercial agriculture.
During the interaction, Royer expressed satisfaction with the resilience of the crop and livestock farmers. He said their occupation requires expertise and measured patience to bear fruits. He praised them for working hard to provide food and meat for Dominicans and also for export to regional markets.
Royer said the government will cooperate with them to enhance productivity with latest technologies and finance. He tasked the farmers to express their worries and promised that the government will ensure that their demands are met. He said farmers across Dominica are to be thanked for their hard work, and said that they deserve attention from the government.
Meanwhile, the parliamentary representative for Grand Bay Constituency, Vince Henderson, thanked the agriculture minister for meeting with the farmers. He also thanked government officials that accompanied the minister to the South. These include the Minister of State for Agriculture, Jullan Defoe; Parliamentary Secretary Lakeyia Joseph, and technical staff from the Ministry of Agriculture.
Royer’s town hall meeting with farmers in the South marked his 7th and final tour to agricultural regions in Dominica.
